THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GRAND JUNCTION HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR SNOW AND WIND...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM
6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM MST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

* TIMING...SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN THIS EVENING...THEN
INCREASE IN COVERAGE AND INTENSITY EARLY TUESDAY. SNOW WILL CONTINUE
THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATION...10 TO 20 INCHES OF SNOW WILL BE
POSSIBLE...WITH THE HEAVIEST ACCUMULATION OVER THE CREST OF THE
EASTERN UINTA MOUNTAINS.

* WINDS...WEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS AS HIGH AS 50 MPH.
DECREASING TO 10 TO 20 MPH TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY.

* VISIBILITY...VERY POOR AT TIMES WITH WHITEOUT CONDITIONS TONIGHT
AND TUESDAY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING MEANS SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. STRONG WINDS AND BLOWING SNOW ARE ALSO POSSIBLE. THIS WILL MAKE TRAVEL VERY HAZARDOUS OR IMPOSSIBLE.
