Economic Development Action Plan
Daggett County Commissioners, the Economic Development Board (current Economic Development Board members include Tina Bennington, Craig Collett, Sara Lamb, Karen Perry, Layne and Diane Ferrin, and Jerry Taylor), and the Economic Development Director Brian Raymond are working on some of the projects listed below. We would like your input and help on prioritizing the following projects and listing others that we might be able to make some progress on the rest of this year and throughout 2013:
Increase Visitors here during low and shoulder seasons
Develop Area Welcome Packets
Continue Business Expansion and Retention program/Economic Gardening Activities
Institute a Buy Local Program
Enhance Street Beautification and add new Entry Signs
Tree City USA – Arbor Day projects
Improve Annual Community Clean-up
Develop Walking Path along Hwy 43
Develop a new Shooting complex including a rifle range
Find additional Economic Development Funding

Legislative Assistance
Continue to plan and complete Dutch John Development Projects
RDA Project Area Development for Manila and Greendale areas
Natural Gas for Manila
Continue and improve existing events
Relook at Area Branding
Further Develop the Recycling Coalition
Continue Resort & Conference Center Development
Increase Number and Variety of Events to bring in Visitors
Community Non-Profit Developed
Increased Marketing – Co-op with State of Utah
Increased Marketing – Co-op with Local Businesses
Develop Social Media resources for the area and area businesses
Develop a “Come Back” area marketing program
Marketing Study to show effectiveness of current marketing
Develop a Business Resource Center/Tourism Center
Develop a Ski Resort/tubing hill in the Ashley National Forest
Develop Additional Affordable and Workforce housing options
There are many more activities and projects that we could add to the list and many of these have various sub projects within them. County and Town budgets are limited, grant funds are limited and becoming more and more competitive, so we need to focus our efforts.
