Planning and Zoning Ordinance

Daggett County has amended it's County Planning and Zoning ordinance (County Map). In addition to land use and building requirements, the ordinance sets up the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Planning and Zoning Commission

The Daggett County Planning and Zoning Commission (Planning Commission) is an advisory body to the County Commission pertaining to the Daggett County General Plan (PDF), Chapter 8: County Resource Management Plan (PDF) (CRMP), Chapter 8 Appendix (PDF), and the Amended Daggett County Zoning & Subdivision Ordinance, Title 8, Land Use Regulations. The Planning Commission has the power and responsibility to prepare or cause to be prepared the Daggett County General Plan, the Daggett County Zoning and Subdivision Ordinance Title 8 Land Use, or any amendments for these documents, and to submit the proposed documents or amendments to the County Commission. The Planning Commission can also hear, review, approve or deny, or recommend approval or denial of development applications, as authorized by the Zoning Ordinance; and adopt bylaws, policies, procedures and regulations necessary for the functioning of the Planning Commission provided, that such bylaws, policies, procedures and regulations shall be approved by the County Commission before taking effect.

Building Permits 

"It shall be unlawful to construct, alter, repair, or improve, remove, or demolish, or to commence the construction, set-up of mobile home, alterations, removal, or demolition of a building or structure or any industrial facility without first filing with the Building Inspector an application in writing and obtaining a formal permit. . .Permits shall apply to all development and construction regardless of whether the project is government or privately financed and owned." Building Permit applications are available through the Planning and Zoning office at the Daggett County Courthouse.

A non refundable deposit will be due at the time an application is turned in. This will apply to the total cost of the building permit.

Deposit-$200 for any accessory building
Deposit-$600 for any dwelling-Deposit
