He spoke of being from the rural community of Fairview Utah and his understanding of the challenges we face. He has and is working towards funding for our schools and agriculture. Also discussed, was the Mental Health struggles our youth are facing surrounding Social Media and the seriousness of the negative effects it’s having on them. Another topic was bringing Fiber Optics to all rural communities to entice job markets out of urban areas and into rural areas resulting in higher employment, higher wages and increased benefits. We certainly appreciated his time and insights into the future of our county and state. We would like to give a warm welcome to our new Manila Town Mayor, Kathi Knight. We appreciate her desire in taking over the responsibilities of Mayor Coombs. We would also like to thank and express our appreciation to Gretchen Northcott for her service to the town in the interim. And with this, let the summer season begin!!
