[ARCHIVED] BOR announces Green River Flow adjustment to meet Spring Runoff expectations

Flaming Gorge current elevation is 6022.13 feet. Flows of the Yampa River are expected to peak Friday, May 23, 2008, and then decrease significantly Saturday and Sunday as a cold front moves into the system. In order to maximize the chances of achieving flows in the Green River that meet the objectives of the Flaming Gorge Record of Decision, releases from Flaming Gorge Dam will be increased beginning
Friday, May 23, 2008.

Please note that all of these changes will be made through Flaming Gorge Powerplant and releases will be maintained steady in between each increase. All times are local Mountain Daylight Savings Time. After the final release increase on Saturday, May 24, 2008, releases will be held at powerplant capacity (~4,200 cfs) until further notice.
