An interim average base flow level of 1,500 cfs/day is currently being
released from Flaming Gorge. Releases began fluctuating around the
1,500 cfs average on July 1, 2008, from an off peak low of approximately
1,360 cfs to an afternoon peak of approximately 1,646 cfs. Flaming
Gorge Dam will undergo electrical compliance testing this week. The
North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) and Western
Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) require electrical compliance
testing every five years. This testing is coincident to the recent
turbine upgrades at the dam. Flows will be fluctuating throughout the
week in order to complete the tests, but actual impact to downstream
users should be minimal.
